The BT Asset Technologist primarily focuses on Contract Governance and budgeting product delivery and support at NorthWestern Energy. The successful candidate is a liaison between Business Technology and external business partners to assist in the development, processing and completion of technology contracts. Individual will also participate in the management of Business Technology capital and expense budget


+ Adhere to company safety standards

+ Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, goals, strategic business objectives, Effective Leadership methodology and Code of Business Conduct and Ethics

+ Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information

+ Comply with NorthWestern Energy's internal controls, policies, practices, procedures and standards, including company and department security standards

+ Travel up to 15%, including day trips and overnight

+ Ability to work extended hours as necessary

BT Asset Technologist

+ Monitor and maintain contracts, software assurance, and maintenance agreements

+ Background in Technology contracts with ability to negotiate favorable terms

+ Experience in Technology requirements for contracts as it relates cyber security, code development and vendor viability

+ Ability to initiate and manage contracting process, in coordination with Legal, from inception to conclusion

+ Utilization of applications to manage contract licensing for audit and compliance

+ Strong partnering skills required to develop positive customer, team and leadership relationships to facilitate Business Technology business partnerships

+ Ensure that the various capital business processes are followed; coordinate with other BT partners optimizing corporate financial goals

+ Assist in the management of BT budgets to meet Company long term and short term goals

+ Implement, enhance, and support technology product delivery

+ Exhibit an enthusiasm for technology, streamlining business processes and introducing new automation.

+ Demonstrate strong analytical skills to evaluate/troubleshoot complex issues

+ Effectively and efficiently organize, plan, execute and coordinate multiple work assignments to deliver results according to established completion dates

+ Driven to help the business protect assets through adoption and employment of NorthWestern Energy cybersecurity policies, tools, and practices


+ Demonstrate and maintain a good safety record

+ Bachelor's degree from four-year accredited college in associated discipline such as Computer Science, Business and Information Technology, or other relevant degree. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may also be considered

+ Proficient using Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).

+ General knowledge of Windows Operating systems, servers, networks, security, and business continuity practices.

+ Strong organization skills to coordinate workload and employee development

+ Strong written/oral communication and documentation skills

+ SAP experience and basic programming knowledge preferred

+ Strong aptitude to understand current technology trends in software, cloud, cybersecurity and automation to apply them to NorthWestern Energy's business processing needs is preferred

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills are required

+ Self-starter who pursues self-education and is customer focused
