JOB PURPOSE

  • Manage the ongoing sales and operations in the offshore Norwegian market
  • Develop strong business growth for all product lines across the market
  • Product lines covered Completions, Well Construction, Deployment, Fishing and Intervention, Drilling Tools, Production and Wellheads

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Directly reports to : VP-Sales (Eastern Hemisphere)
  • Directly Supervises : Area BDM
  • External Relationships : Customers and Agents

JOB SCOPE

  • Manage all commercial and operational requirements in Norway
  • Coach and mentor his direct reports.
  • Secure opportunities and generate sales.
  • Promote and represent Innovex’s Products in assigned region.
  • Develop customer relations to enhance business opportunities.
  • Identify and manage relevant strategic partners.
  • Contribute to the annual budget process and ensure final approved budget is delivered.
  • Provide solution-based approach to client operations.
  • Plan strategic development and growth in assigned area(s).
  • Take business decisions, in consultation with direct / functional reporting lines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work to drive profitable growth for Rubicon business in assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Develops and secures new customer relationships.
  • Provides technical sales support to sales professionals and accompanies sales professionals on sales calls / visits as needed to add value to client interactions.
  • Lead market segmentation and account targeting strategies in assigned area(s).
  • Drives the route to market strategy within assigned area(s) of responsibility and drives development of necessary business relationships to enhance routes to market -- this includes relationships with E&P companies, service companies, and distributors / resellers / agents as necessary.
  • Drive the introduction of new products into assigned area(s) by coordinating global resources, local operations, and client acceptance for the product.
  • Implement, track, and work with Application Engineering to report critical testing in the field on new products, product enhancements, or existing products in new applications within assigned area(s) of responsibility.
  • Serve as a focal point to provide market / client intelligence back to Product Line Management on the following topics:
  • Product performance and value proposition in all applications for assigned Region -- critical to gather case histories for assigned market.

  • Commercial model acceptance.

  • Competitive intelligence -- pricing, marketing, sales strategies, market activities, etc.

  • Market opportunities or gaps in the market place that could be filled with new product development projects.

  • With the support of Application Engineering, document key learnings and best practices as they are developed.

-Provide market intelligence allowing Product Line Management resources to understand and uncover new market opportunities within assigned area(s) of responsibility.

  • As required, work with QHSE, Operations, Application Engineering, Engineering, and Product Line Management to assist in product failure investigation, support, and corrective action implementation.
  • If applicable, represent the organization in outside discussions and technical forums through presentations and authorship of relevant technical papers.
  • Regularly report performance, opportunities & issues to management.
  • Through / in conjunction with the inside sales team, provide technical & commercial quotes / tenders and contracts.
  • Provide customer setup information for setup of new customers.
  • Where needed, carry out due diligence exercise for new customers in assigned area(s).
  • Approve quotes pricing structure and discounts, in consultation with respective product line manager.
  • Makes regular follow-ups on status of quotes, tenders, pre-qualifications, and payments.
  • Review / approve invoices before being sent to Customers.
  • Communicate concession requests, issues and delivery status to Customers.
  • Must be prepared to handle special projects as assigned by the management.
  • Comply with company QHSE standards, business code of conduct, core values and intolerables, as well as, legal requirements of the US and countries of operation.
  • Identify and report risks and opportunities for improvement, including those needed to enhance company processes, product / service performance and customer satisfaction.
  • In coordination with HR department, review performance / competency of subordinates, analyze training needs and establish training plans.

EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Minimum 12 years plus in a similar role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business development or equivalent is a plus.
  • Extensive Norway experience
  • Must be able to communicate in fluent Norwegian
  • Understanding of organizational context, internal / external issues, and the needs & expectations of relevant interested parties.
  • Strong business development skills and sales hunter mentality.
  • Key capability to analyze and segment markets to identify opportunities and devise sales strategies.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills.
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships quickly; excellent team building skills.
  • Self-motivated with ability to complete projects / assignments with minimal direction.
  • Applicable business skills necessary to maximize gross margins and improve operational efficiency.
  • Technically-competent.
  • Strong commercial acumen with sales aptitude.
  • Broad understanding of business plans, customer requirements, and market demands.
  • Analytical skills necessary to recognize and solve problems of a highly complex nature.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills representative of a clear, concise, comprehensive written / verbal communicator.
  • Personally committed to continual improvement and customer satisfaction.
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with ability to work on multiple projects.
